9:49 Kid is getting ready for surgery, all excited because he knows about it - wants to see everything - george tells him he will get to watch entire surgery on camera after is over. Kid wants him to start now!

9:51 Izzie is doing great job in surgery. Alex looks on pissed from gallery. Mark says "cowboys don't have friends" when Izzie looks up.

9:52 Mer is also (surprise!) doing a great job in surgery. Hahn says Xtina is better teacher than would have thought. Mer says sorry, Hahn says colleague knows more than you, milk em for all they're worth, but lie to me about your experience again and the next heart you see will be your own while I cut it out with a steak knife.

9:53 Tumor guy is in recovery wife is afraid he will never forgive her. He was sick and she told him he was lazy and boring and threw things at him. Shes his wife, she should have known... Izzie makes speech that makes me cry, given current things:

Izzie: People are terrible to the people they love sometimes. They're mean. You were both having a hard time and you took it out on each other. It doesn't make you the worst wife in the world. It just makes you a person who made a mistake.

Cut to Izzie, Mer and Xtina are dreamily back on derm couch, talking about their day. We are not happy, glowy people, says Xtina. Yeah, they say. We need to get out of here, says Xtina. Yeah

9:54 George passed!!! He's not an intern anymore! We are so gonna celebrate says Lexi. He runs off to tell Izzie and Mer. Lexi is realizing shes losing him. Goes into Joes he is back with Izzie and Mer. George is drunk. Alex is at bar too. Lexi doesn't want to go sit at table, probably because Mer is scary. Izzie orders another vodka tonic ( how the hell these people function hungover is beyond me) Shepherd comes in and buys them both a drink, then tells them he will kick them out of program if they pull that crap again... Looks at Mer and walks out of bar.

9:55 Alex apologizes for being an ass,he's angry all the time, says you can't be pissed at a crazy girl for losing her mind, and Izzie is the only one to be pissed at

9:57 Callie and Hahn at dinner. Callie says that they need to have rules. Rules. About how we're going to deal with the motherland because it's undiscovered country and maybe it will be the best vacation either of us has ever had but it's dark.. and there's an embassy... and a safe word. Hahn wants to know wtf she's talking about. Callie says below the Mason dixon line. Hahn says me too, lots of undiscovered land above the belt, we can take it slow.1st base... Callie looks at her and says, maybe second base too.. Could they have chosen 2 less attractive doctors for this? Ok, that's what premium channels are for I suppose.

9:59 - Derek and Mer - Der says almost went back to trailer. Mer says she wants him there. She may not always be graceful about it ( ya think?) but she does. needing a place for his things not unreasonable request.He can use mom's den for his office or den or whatever. Besides, her mother is not here, he is. They make out. Joy. Asks where Mer can go to get away, says she can always go to Xtinas.

Cut to Xtina and Mer with mom's diary.Starts reading it. They are in trailer. LOL.

Closing monologue: "We like to think we're fearless, eager to explore unknown lands and soak up new experiences, but the fact is, we're always terrified. Maybe the terror is part of the attraction. Some people go to horror movies. We cut things open. Dive into dark water. And at the end of the day, isn't that what you'd rather to hear about? If you've got one drink and one friend and 45 minutes. Slow rides make for boring stories. A little calamity. Now that's worth talking about.
